The History of Rockford Yoga Day

Each year, June 21st is recognized and observed as International Day of Yoga.

On June 19th 2017, as a local entrepreneur, long time yoga teacher in our Rockford Community, Official Yoga Teacher of the Rockford IceHogs, and Founder of Rockford Yoga Day, I received the Proclamation from the City of Rockford and Mayor McNamara declaring June 21st “Rockford Yoga Day”!  Since then, I’ve hosted an outdoor yoga event with hundreds of participants practicing yoga celebrating Rockford Yoga Day.

On this day, we celebrate Yoga, practice yoga with Yogis all over the world, and support all things Rockford – which includes, local 815 businesses and a gathering of our Sangha (Yoga Community)and those brand new to yoga!

The day starts with our Vendor Fair followed by a one hour, all-level yoga practice lead by me. We then invite everyone to again enjoy our Vendor Fair and explore the beautiful grounds of Womanspace.

Rockford Yoga Day is and will always be a free Community event. Open to all.

There are so many opportunities to be involved from sponsorship to vendors, volunteers, committees, etc…

Whether you’re a Sponsor or a Vendor, RYD is an opportunity to get your business in front of hundreds (even thousands!) of consumers in our Rockford (and surrounding areas) Community.  As a Vendor, you’ll be in the middle of the action the day-of as RYD participants will experience your product and learn about your business and impact in our Community live and in person.

As a Sponsor, your business will have great, far reaching visibility on our Rockford Yoga Day T-shirts (printed locally by Rockford Art Deli!). Both receive high visibility/promotion on our websites, marketing, and social media platforms as well as recognition at the event.

Some of our annual Sponsors include the Rockford IceHogs, Rockford Park District/Nicholas Conservatory, Food 4 Fuel, Eats + Speaks, Motivate Therapy, Choices Natural Market, Bodycraft Wellness, and Integral Heath Solutions among many others.

For our Vendor Fair, we welcome all Rockford local businesses (and in some cases, National companies)that have a like-minded vision and product/service to offer.  Some of our local Vendors include Food 4 Fuel, Anderson Organics, Choices Natural Market, Eats + Speaks, and several others!  We are proud to also have Larabar, doTerra, Young Living, Beautycounter, and MaryKay represented at Rockford Yoga Day!
